Your First Visit

Your first appointment with us in Walnut Creek, CA, is an opportunity for you to meet Dr. Karas. We will use this time to get to know you and your oral health needs, as well as develop a treatment plan.

Items to Bring

Please bring the following items with you to your first appointment. This will allow our staff to have everything they need and to see you as quickly as possible.

  • Referral slip and X-rays
  • List of current medications
  • Form of payment
  • Valid form of ID (e.g., driver’s license)
  • List of current medical conditions (e.g., high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, etc.)

Parents of Minors

All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to the consultation appointment.

What to Expect

First, your oral surgeon will perform an oral examination and take 3D scans of your mouth and face. Then, we will discuss your oral health goals and explain your options for treatment. Our practice offers many forms of anesthesia, which we will go over with you so that you are as comfortable as possible during any type of procedure.

3D Scanning

Our practice utilizes advanced 3D scanning technology to create detailed digital images to plan treatment and monitor progress.

Financial & Insurance Information

We provide individual estimates for each surgical treatment and are happy to submit a claim to your insurance, provided we have the necessary information. Our office is a provider for Delta Dental and Blue Shield PPO of California, and we offer financing through CareCredit®, a healthcare credit card specifically designed to cover treatments not covered by insurance. Please review your benefits for a thorough explanation of your coverage and what to expect. Our staff is happy to assist you in reviewing your coverage and discuss your fees to avoid any misunderstandings.
